Fantastic Teachers

Daniel Webster is home to a devoted group of teachers who bring experience, training, and focus to all students. Learn more about all our great teachers here.

Our Campus

Daniel Webster was completely renovated between 2015 – 2016 and we’re incredibly happy with all the new features. The playground sports a brand new play structure and garden areas that we’ll be filling in over the next year. The building itself has been redesigned with a central hallway that physically knits our community together. Our new library offers a view of downtown San Francisco and will be a great community space to gather!

What sets Daniel Webster Apart?

A history of strong parent involvement and parent-led initiatives to improve the school. The can-do attitude that kept the school open in the face of two SFUSD-threatened closures has served to galvanize our school community, grow our fundraising, and keep needed resources flowing into the school.

A small, intimate, school where everyone gets to know you and your child’s name. Being small is a big deal for ensuring everyone gets individual attention both in the classroom and on the yard. Our staff of top-notch teachers, counselors and administrators work as a team and get to know every student so that they are comprehensively cared for and educated on a very personal level.

A strong link to and support from the Potrero Hill community: DW has been both physically and symbolically in the heart of Potrero Hill since it was opened in 1936. We have octogenarian volunteers who went to DW seventy years ago, and many current parents who are alumni.

Daniel Webster is a continuing success story. Because we’re a turn-around school, there is an attitude of openness that welcomes new ideas and approaches to problem solving.

What Parents say about us

Being a part of this community makes me feel very proud. I like that Daniel Webster is a small school with a very active and diverse community. Many parents work as volunteers in and out of the classroom. The teachers are great, and provide excellent communication with us. My daughter loves her teachers, she is now reading in both Spanish and English.

I am extremely happy with the school. I chose Daniel Webster for its neighborhood feeling and the immersion program. My daughter’s Spanish is fantastic, and I’m sure she’ll be fluent by third grade. The families I’ve met have become friends, as well as leaders in growing the school community. We are all thriving in this environment.
