PTA

Daniel Webster has a very active PTA with a strong parent community that works to support the school in many different ways. The PTA funds our technology educator, a portion of the arts curriculum, most classroom supplies and many other expenses not covered by the district. The PTA spends about $550 per student annually. Volunteers help with enrollment outreach, garden & grounds maintenance, school communication, fundraising and more. In 2018-2019, the PTA raised nearly $250,000. Our biggest fundraiser is our annual food event, Taste of Potrero. This year’s goal is over $250,000. For more information and to join the PTA, see the PTA page. To give, visit our donation page.

School Site Council (SSC)

The SSC establishes policies regarding Daniel Webster’s academic programs and determines the school’s budget.  Elections are held in the Fall for parent representatives to the SSC.  There are 8 elected members, serving for 2 years each. The SSC is made up of parents, teachers, and community members. To contact the SSC, please email ssc@danielwebster-sf.com. English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

ELAC is a committee for parents and other community members who want to advocate for English Language Learners. The purpose is to advise the principal, school staff and the School Site Council (SSC) on programs and services for English Language Learners.  Elections for officers are held in the fall. ELAC co-presidents are Brenda Medina and Ana Avilez; Laura Benton is the ELAC parent coordinator and can be reached through the school office.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Parent volunteers are welcome in the classroom, on field trips and even helping out administratively. We’re sure we can find a way to put you to work! To volunteer just email us!
