Blanca Lopez – Spanish Immersion Fourth/Fifth Grade

Ms. Lopez was born and raised in San Francisco. She earned her B.A. and Bilingual Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University and has had experience in the classroom in Alvarado and Monroe. She discovered her passion for teaching while working as a Teacher’s Assistant in a Spanish preschool called, “Las Mañanitas.” The program is designed to encourage Spanish-speaking preschoolers to further develop their primary language while welcoming English-speaking preschoolers into a beautiful new language experience. She brings this passion for language and teaching to her kindergarteners this year in her first year teaching at Daniel Webster.

“I have learned that an excellent teacher is not someone who just explains and not someone who just demonstrates. An excellent teacher is someone who inspires children to do their very best and to be proud of who they are as people in the world. An excellent teacher also goes the extra mile to make sure no child is left behind.  They can take individuals and make them believe, truly believe, that their hopes and dreams are within reach”.
