Ana Olivar – Third Grade Spanish Immersion

Ana Maria Olivar is a San Francisco native born and raised in the Mission District. She earned her BA from U. C. Davis in Psychology and she received her teaching credential and Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus in Language and Literacy from San Francisco State University.  She has split her time over the last eleven years teaching at the only public elementary schools found on Potrero Hill: Daniel Webster and Starr King. Needless to say, she loves The Hill and is happy to be part of the Daniel Webster community.

Besides her love for teaching, Ana loves snowboarding, traveling, and dancing. But her biggest hobby is bird watching; specifically, for birds of prey. You can find her on Hawk Hill in the Marin Headlands during the fall migration as a Hawk watch volunteer through the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory. So feel free to talk birds with Ms. Olivar. Her favorite grown up author is Isabel Allende and her favorite children’s book is A Snowy Day by Jack Ezra Keats.
